Oh, marvelous. After I’ve written a lengthy entry on abstract I get to abstracted. I should have looked ahead in the dictionary. If I’d known abstracted was coming up I probably could have saved some of the material from abstract and thrown it in here to make this look entry meatier than it’s going to look.

Oh, wait. Never mind. Abstracted isn’t the past tense of abstract after all. Who new?

To be abstracted means that you aren’t showing attention to what’s going on around you. It’s a synonym of absentminded, which I’ve already discussed.

Am I the only one who didn’t know that? Well, you know what they say. You learn something everyday. I’d better go to bed quickly before I learn something else and overload my brain.
