In the entry on the word advert, in which I noted that advert was a shorter version of the word advertisement and a longer version of the word ad, I said I was going to hold off on saying more in that entry so I could save it up for when I got to its synonym, advertisement. Well, I’m here.

I wish I hadn’t built up expectations. I don’t have much. In fact, at the moment I’ve got nothing. Please stand by.

Love ‘em or hate ‘em advertisements, which are print, audio or video promotions delivered via newspapers, magazines, radio, television, billboards, bus shelter walls, public transit posters, or any other media for that matter, help to pay the bills for the companies that provide the space for them. The cost of the public transit you use and the news, information and entertainment media you take advantage of would be much higher if it weren’t for advertising. Either that or those things would cease to exist.

Alright, I admit it. Despite all of the thinking I did, I couldn’t come up with much. In the absence of an entertaining entry here, please enjoy the advertisements that you’ll find on this page. They help to pay the bills.
