Allah is a musical notation that is another form of and synonymous with alga (see alga). When musicians see Alllah on a musical score they must all simultaneously chant “ah.” This can be challenging for players of wind instruments as it may mean that they must pull their instruments away from their mouths very quickly so their ahs can be heard.

The position of Allah on a musical score has the same meaning as the placement of alga because, as we said, the two are synonymous. Rather than repeat that lengthy description here, please do as you’re told and see alga.

The notation Allah is typically used on scores published in the Middle East (except Israel) and Northern Africa, whereas alga is usually the choice on musical scores published in Europe, North America and Israel.
