Allege is a misspelling of “all-egg.” It is an adjective used to describe a meal, or a course within a meal, that is comprised solely of eggs. For example, unadorned scrambled eggs with nothing on the side, would be an allege dishes. Likewise, one or more plain hardboiled eggs, again with nothing on the side, would also be an allege dish.
