Allocate, not to be confused with echolocate, is the means by which some animals without eyes, or at least anything that most of us would call eyes, find their way around. To allocate means, basically, to find your way around by the sense of touch. Thus, earthworms can be said to allocate.
Human lovers who prefer the dark and, therefore, find their way around by the sense of touch, can also be said to allocate. However, don’t let the reference to worms in the preceding paragraph confuse you. When referring to human lovers, the word allocate does not necessarily refer to any wormlike appendages.
