Amber gris is a verb phrase that means to amber (i.e., walk around as if one leg is considerably longer than the other; see amber) while also loudly whining about it. People who amber gris a lot tend not to have a lot of friends because, who wants to listen to all of that incessant whining? I don’t know about you, but I don’t.
It is this tendency to annoy people unbearably that led to the age-old, widely-used saying, “he (or she) who amber grises, amber grises alone.” There is no statistically valid empirical evidence to back up this statement, but it sounds reasonable.
Because people who amber tend to walk in circles, the number of people they piss off in any one ambering session depends on the radius of the circle they walk.
