ampoule

To ampoule (verb) means to run around like a chicken with its head cut off. Unfortunately and embarrassingly, unlike chickens with their heads cut off, some people who ampoule do it for a ridiculously long time.

(P.S.: We cannot confirm that chickens with their heads cut off really are able to run around for a while. As far as we’re concerned, that’s just something people say. It may or not be true. The only chickens we’ve seen were in a cooler in a supermarket, which is where chickens with, not just their heads, but also a lot more cut off belong. In fact, we much prefer to imagine that they were never alive and running around headed or headless. They, in our minds, exist only in supermarkets and only already in ready-to-cook or pre-cooked form.)
